Kicking off Saturday’s triple header at Copleston, Ipswich started slowly and soon found that Cardiff weren’t going to give up.
Ipswich held a five-point lead at the end of the first quarter, but after a change of defense and an extremely effective second quarter, Ipswich were able to run out a 29-point lead heading into the second half.
The second half started slow again, with Cardiff scoring five points to begin to cut into the deficit. With a combination of an Ipswich time out and massive defensive plays from the Ipswich team, the hosts finally found their confidence and were able to thrive in the second half finishing the game with a 44 point win.
The Under-16 Girls will face Manchester Mystics at home on the weekend of 21st April. With all players contributing, scoring was led by Ella Pearson (20 points), Cameron Taylor-Willis (18) and Susannah Rafiu (15).
