Ipswich had their last home court appearance of the season on Saturday. The day’s visitors took the win in the early season fixture and therefore a big winning margin was the target to ensure Ipswich held the head-to-head advantage whilst conference standings can still shake down a number of different ways.

Within a few possessions it began to look promising for the home side, Ipswich possessed a significant size and speed advantage and it took only a few minutes of play to build a double-digit lead, 8 minutes out from the tip-off this had been increased to 20pts. Ipswich didn’t look back.

The remainder of the game saw more points, shared amongst 10 of the players, and some great defence that restricted the visitors to only 9pts across the entire 2nd half.

The U14’s move on to 11-6, and post-season play is now nailed on. The girls’ final regular season fixture is next Saturday, away to Brentwood Leopards.

The top scorers were Susannah Rafiu, who finished with 32 points, Alicia Boddy, who added 19, and Makenna Williams, who scored 16.
