There’s still time to sign up for two fundraising events in September and to save the date for the Senior Men’s curtain-raising fixture against Team USA Select.

The Peninsula Triathlon is taking place on Sunday 10th September, starting in the pool at Royal Hospital School, Holbrook. Featuring everyone from serious triathletes to… less serious amateur athletes as well as a healthy dose of IBC entrants, from junior players to committee members, volunteers and members of the Senior Men’s and Women’s squads.

You can still sign up to take part in the Peninsula Triathlon, by visiting the signup page here.

A weekend before the Triathlon is the annual Club Summer Barbeque, on Sunday 3rd September at Chantry Park in Ipswich.

This regular event is one of the best-attended fundraisers on the club’s calendar and a rare opportunity for our basketball club fraternity to do something outdoors – come along and enjoy barbequed food, live music, games and much more – and get your last tan before the season starts and we all head inside sports halls for the winter!

Finally, on Saturday 16th September IBC Senior Men and their new Head Coach, John Ellis, welcome Team USA Select to town in a 5pm tip-off in front of what is expected to be another sell-out crowd at Copleston.

The touring Americans are back for the second year running in what IBC hope to establish as a staple of their pre-season. Last season’s game was an immensely entertaining encounter and we are looking forward to another clash.

Summer may not be over quite yet, but basketball season has definitely started!
