Copleston ran out 102-83 comfortable winners in a high scoring game against BHASVIC in Ipswich in the EABL.
Copleston used this game to explore a number of different line ups and give extended minutes to their bench and less experienced players. However, it was still the trio of Rory Winter, Josh Apple and Caleb Fuller that ultimately dominated the game.
BHASVIC came out shooting well from the three point line, but Copleston’s advantage in the paint helped in both the half court and in transition.
The game remained close for three quarters while the IBA team rotated two starters with three bench players, with the score 67-60 in the Suffolk side’s favour going into the fourth. However, a fourth quarter onslaught saw Copleston open things up to nearly twenty as the game finished.
“Today was great for us,” said Copleston Coach Tom Sadler. “BHASVIC have improved a lot, but so have we and we were able to show that by using all twelve players for extended periods of the game. BHASVIC hit a lot of threes.”
Copleston were led by Rory Winter, who had a EABL career high thirty points. Winter was supported by Caleb Fuller (28) and Josh Apple (19, ten rebounds and seven steals). BHASVIC got 25 from Enoch Quarcoo and 15 from Naz Aburamadan.
Copleston are at home again next week when they host Canterbury while BHASVIC host Itchen College.
