Coach Amy Linton and the Under-16 Girls were in action twice over the weekend, with two away games to look forward to.

The team got their weekend off to the ideal start with a controlling 54-35 win away at Southwark Pride behind Emily Baker’s 23-point outburst and 15 from Esther Little. On the back of this victory, the girls are now top of the Under-16 Girls’ South Premier league table.

In their second away game of the weekend, Ipswich then produced another big win in the National Cup, this time beating Oaklands Wolves 76-53 in St Albans. Ella Pearson finished with a game-high 28 points, while Little and Ines Bowman-Boyles each added another 13 points.

“I am a very happy coach this weekend!” said Coach Linton on Sunday. “Today especially we had one of the best team performances I’ve seen. We moved the ball well and created shot opportunities for each other consistently.

“We also communicated throughout, this improved as the game went on and even the players on the bench played their part by creating a positive atmosphere the entire game.”

Now sitting at the top of the Under-16 Girls’ South Premier division, Coach Linton’s team are next in action at Copleston on November 20th, when they host winless Oaklands.
